How long does it take?

CAP railings can often be installed within 1–2 weeks from approval. Custom projects may take 3–6 weeks depending on design complexity and finish requirements.

Do you deliver and install outside Idaho and Utah?

Yes. We offer nationwide shipping and work with trusted freight partners to ensure your order arrives safely. Installation beyond Idaho and Utah is considered case by case.

How do I place an order?

After you approve your quote and drawings, we send a confirmation invoice. Once payment is processed, your order moves to fabrication.

CAP Railings

What are CAP Rails?

CAP stands for Custom Aluminum Panel. CAP Rails are our proprietary prefab metal railing system designed to give you the clean, modern look of custom ironwork—without the high cost or long lead times.

Unlike cheap bolt-on railings, CAP Rails are made from powder-coated aluminum, built to handle tough weather, and engineered for quick installation.

CAP Rails come in a variety of styles and colors, meet residential and commercial building codes, and are installed by our in-house team with precision and care. Or you can install them yourself.

How fast can you install CAP metal railings?

Most CAP Railing projects are typically completely installed within 1–2 weeks after measurement.

What styles and colors are available for CAP Rails?

Do you handle measurements and quoting?

Yes! WE offer free no-obligation estimates. We’ll come out, review your space, and give you a clear, no-pressure quote.

Can I install CAP Rails myself?

We strongly recommend professional install for both CAP and custom railings to ensure safety, code compliance, and warranty validity. However, if you’re a determined & capable DIYer, we can provide guidance for CAP installs.

How much do custom railings typically cost?

Pricing varies depending on material, design complexity, and project size. Most residential custom railings are around $300 per linear foot. We provide a free estimate with every inquiry.

How long does the custom railing process take?

From consultation to installation, most custom railing projects take 2–5 weeks. Timelines can vary depending on project size, design approvals, fabrication queue, and site conditions.

Can you match an existing railing design or architectural style?

Yes. We specialize in blending new railing systems with existing structures, historic styles, and HOA requirements. Bring us a photo or sketch — we’ll take it from there.

Does Western Fabrication install or just fabricate?

We offer both full-service fabrication + installation, or material-only orders for contractors and DIY clients. You choose what fits your project best.
